The English Rugby Football Union’s strategic plan to 2021 is nothing if not ambitious. By then, it aims to be ‘England’s strongest sport underpinned by good governance and regulation’; and ‘the world’s leading rugby nation, with the best teams in the world at all levels.’ Not a big ask then.
Its strategic priorities are to ‘Protect, engage, grow, win’. And to get there, it will use ‘innovation, people and technology.’
For instance, it seeks to ‘develop a culture that celebrates innovation’, ‘develop world-class leaders’ and ‘harness the power of data.’
